A typeface specimen is a designed typeface sample that can be used to assess the quality and suitability of a typeface for certain content and tasks. in this work, the relevant features of my favourite typeface have been identified and I have developed an appropriate representation and an application scenario in short form. These have been transferred to a print medium and realised, as well as to a microsite, adapted to desktop PC and smartphone (as prototypes).
Inspired by the hand lettering of 20th century book designer and calligrapher Oscar Ogg. Ogg captures the unique mix of calligraphic and typographic form he achieved through his use of hand carved pen nibs brushes and whiteout. The characteristics of the font were used to develop an appropriate form of presentation that translates the look & feel, features and application options into an interactive one-pager as well as a printed media. There is a screen and mobile version to see all the features OGG has.
